I am doing my MBA in telecommunication from amity university. Being a telecom manager i want to know from you that “how the mangaed services can help telecom operator to provide the world class services to the customers”. These services are just helping the operators to reduce their capex and opex and reduce chaos. what are the additional points on managed services which can make me undersatnd on this topic.

Make me enlightend with your Experience in this industry.

Thank you very much.

Shiv:

Thank you very much for your email.  As you mentioned, managed service providers certainly help reduce capex, opex and reduce the chaos within and organization.  I can tell you from my experiences that can sometime be more than enough.  I can however assure you that managed service providers are going to be a great deal more help in the day to day.  I believe based on your comment below that you are specifically talking about the telcom industry.  With that said, a good managed service provider should allow you to focus your energies on those things that help your organization be profitable.

A managed service provider should help in the day to day management of your telecom needs; moves, adds, changes, deletes, quotes, trouble tickets.  A managed service provider in the telecom space may go as far as helping you determine your needs as you grow, manage your monthly bill and manage your bill disputes.  Some may consider this chaos but again what this really allows their customers to do is focus on their own business.
