Managed service providers deal with the delivery as well as management of network based applications and services for a host of clients.  These days, the number of managed service providers specializing in the provision of online data services to their clients is increasing at a very swift pace. To enable MSP’s to boost their operational efficiency, CloudBerry Lab has introduced their “Managed Backup Service”.

CloudBerry Lab, an official Amazon Web Service Solution Provider, offers state of the art services to MSP’s. Amazon S3, an online data storage service, provides unlimited cloud storage for developers on a pay per use basis. Amazon S3 was developed with an objective to make web computing much easier for developers through scalability and stores user data according to a user specified region.  Besides allowing users to store an unlimited number of objects, there are several authentication mechanisms provided to ensure the data is secured from all forms of unauthorized access. The security features also ensure objects stored within a specific region are not transferred out; and a redundant infrastructure stores objects on multiple devices and across multiple facilities within a user specified region.

By availing CloudBerry’s Managed Backup Service, users will be able to sign up with Amazon and store their data under a centrally managed S3 account. This in turn, enables the managed service provider to assign individual accounts to their clients under a private label. These accounts are then fully managed by the managed service provider, for their clients with the ability to grant additional user access for these clients as needed.

The partner program offers client functionality very similar to CloudBerry’s Backup product with additional features to customize the interface. Some of the essential features of the service include the following:

  • Seamless integration with CloudBerry Backup
  • User friendly installation
  • Easy to create and manage sub accounts
  • User quota management
  • Setup your own pricing for end users

The system requirements for this service include the following:

  • Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0
  • Windows XP/Vista/2008/7
  • Windows Server 2003/2008
  • Amazon S3 account

The CloudBerry Managed Backup Service functions as a web service and needs only an internet connection for operating. Users are required to connect to a managed backup service endpoint, with a control panel for the user to manage the service. Users have the option to integrate the CloudBerry Backup with their own applications and can run on user computers as a service. Users may also control it by using their own applications or tools. At present, two integration options are available. These include:

  • Command line interface
  • C#API.
